As an individual and divergent legal entity, a corporation is granted the authority to open a bank account, own property, and operate its business under its own name. Forming a Domestic Corporation in Connecticut
In order to operate as a corporation, the company must include one of the following words in its title: Corporation, Incorporated, Limited or Company. An initial fee of $30.00 is required to reserve a name for 120 days with an additional $25.00 charge for expedited service. As part of the process of forming a business in Connecticut, it is required to submit Articles of Incorporation to the Secretary of State costing $50.00 and an additional $ 25.00 for expedited service respectively. Every corporation has the legal duty to assign a registered agent and registered office in the state of jurisdiction to represent its business.
